In 2016 I had the absolute privilege of shooting my gorgeous friend Nadia’s wedding. It was a beautiful summer’s wedding filled with some of my favourite things: fairy lights, crazy dancing, ice cream and tequila. Nadia’s wedding was such a special wedding for me. Being around friends and being able to capture their special day just has a certain kind of magic to it. I also got to meet a bunch of Nadia and Ryan’s friends for the first time. Justin and Amber were amongst the new faces that I got to meet that weekend. They also happened to meet each other for the first time that weekend. I remember seeing them dancing together and I asked Nadia: “What’s happening over there?” to which she replied, “I’m not sure but SOMETHING is definitely happening.”
Fast forward to about a year later- that little something blossomed into an engagement.
A Sunday kind of loving
When Amber sent me an email to arrange an engagement shoot I was absolutely thrilled! She told me that the shoot would take place on a Sunday at Rosemary Hill (one of my all time favourite venues for shooting at). We arrived on a warm and sunny morning and immediately set off on a Sunday drive to go and shoot at some of the most enchanting places the venue has to offer. I just loved how in love these two are! They kept giggling and smiling and kissing the entire shoot through. They were so comfortable around each other and spoke to each other kindly and with warmth. They were also super keen to try out all of my crazy ideas and explored the farthest ends of the venue with smiles on their faces (even when we got lost and almost drove over a cyclist or two).
I had such a blast hanging out with these two magical humans. Needles to say, I can’t wait to capture Amber and Justin’s wedding day!
